Charles Doolittle Paleontologist Walcott


Charles Doolittle Walcott - Charles Doolittle Walcott (March 31, 1850 - February 9, 1927) was an eminent American invertebrate paleontologist. He has become well-known for his discovery in 1909 of well-preserved fossils in the Burgess shale formation of British Columbia, Canada.

Burgess Shale - ... after Mount Burgess, close to where the Shale was found) is a black shale exposure found high up in the Canadian Rockies in Yoho National Park near the town of Field, British Columbia. Fossils were found in the Burgess Shale by Charles Doolittle Walcott in 1909.

Charles Hazelius Sternberg - Charles Hazelius Sternberg (1850 – 1943) was an American fossil collector and amateur paleontologist. In 1880 he married Anna Reynolds.

Charles Frederick Hartt - Charles Frederick Hartt (23 August 1840 – 18 March 1878) was an Canadian-American geologist, paleontologist and naturalist who specialized in the geology of Brazil.
